Wildfire Updates and Resources in the Willamette Valley

Gizmos and Gadgets

From washboards to washing machines, cell phones to cameras, gadgets are an integral part of daily life. But that wasn’t always the case. Yamhill County Historical Society presents “Gismos & Gadgets: How Invention Changed the American Household,” an exhibit that looks at how we came to have so many gadgets in our lives and where they originated, on display at the Yamhill Valley Heritage Center February 16 through August 2, 2024.

The Yamhill County Historical Society (YCHS) was founded in 1957. It is a not-for-profit educational and public service organization engaged to protect, preserve, and share the history and heritage of Yamhill County. In 2023, the organization consolidated all operations at the Yamhill Valley Heritage Center. The center is located on a 17-acre site that includes living history and exhibits. YCHS affirms its commitment to the citizens of Yamhill County and its donors through the preservation of their stories and treasures.
