About Eugene Difficult Music Ensemble:

EDME was founded in 2019 by Kathie Hsieh, Milton Fernández Peña, and Lee Sparks Pembleton. They commissioned a score from JP Lempke as part of a contemporary art project. Soon after, Lempke became a permanent member. Through a handful of line-up changes the ensemble has grown to a stable nine permanent members, plus a rotating cast of guest performers. They are dedicated to exploring the world of new music while bringing its thought-provoking beauty to a larger audience in Lane County. Beyond this, their mission as an ensemble and 501(c)(3) nonprofit is to exhibit a diverse range of underrepresented composers and musicians to the Lane County community.
